The Kaduna State ministerial nominee, Abbas Balarabe, on Wednesday slumped while being screened by the Senate.

The incident happened shortly after the nominee read a brief background about himself.

While he was being attended to, the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio was heard saying “give him water, give him sugar.”

The Senate subsequently went into an executive session and returned to plenary after about 30 minutes to confirm the nominee as minister.

The Senate also screened and confirmed Dr Jamila Ibrahim from Kwara State as well as
Mr Ayodele Olawande from Ondo State as ministers.This brings to a total of 48 ministers confirmed by Senate.
