INEC to conduct mock accreditation ahead Nov. guber elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) will hold a mock accreditation of voters for the November 11 Governorship Election in Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa states.

The INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Mr Sam Olumekun made this known in a statement in Abuja.

He said the exercise was to ensure seamless process on election day in the three states, adding that lessons learnt from the exercise would be taken into consideration.

According to him, the exercise will hold simultaneously in the three states on Saturday, Oct. 14,
between 8.30am and 2.30pm.

Olumekun said the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) would be used while polling units results would be uploaded to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV).

He said three polling units had been selected in each Senatorial District of the three states for the exercise, covering a total of nine senatorial districts and 27 polling units.
