Eid-el-fitr: CDS congratulates Muslim Faithful, calls for collective fight against insecurity

The Chief of Defence Staff(CDS), Gen. Christopher Musa, has congratulated all Muslim Faithful including soldiers, ratings, airmen, airwomen and civilian staff of the Armed Forces of Nigeria on the 2024 Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Musa, who made this known in his Eid-el-fitr message in Abuja, said the collective determination of all Nigerians to address the challenges of insecurity was crucial for national development.

He commended President Bola Tinubu led government for its support for the Military in spite of prevailing economic challenges.

On the lessons of Ramadan, the CDS said, “this momentous occasion offers us a chance to seek forgiveness, divine favour and enduring peace for our beloved nation.

“As you commemorate this sacred time, I urge you to uphold the virtues of piety, honesty, tolerance, love, and unity, which you embraced during Ramadan.

“I call upon our troops deployed across all theaters of operation to remain disciplined, resilient, patriotic and courageous in their service to our great nation.

“Your sacrifices and unwavering dedication to safeguarding Nigeria are deeply appreciated.

“We recognise the sacrifices you make, sometimes at great personal cost, to ensure the peace and security of our nation.”

He reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare and well-being of troops in all theaters of operation.

Musa urged Nigerians to extend their love and support to military personnel as well as remember all fallen “comrades” in their prayers.
