The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the election of Siminalayi Fubara as Rivers State Governor.

In a unanimous decision by a five-member panel led by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, the court dismissed appeal filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr. Tonye Cole.

Cole had filed an appeal challenging the outcome of the March 18, 2023 governorship election.

He had alleged that the election was not conducted in compliance with provisions of the Electoral Act 2022.
