FG increases passport fee

The Federal Government has approved the increment Nigerian Passport fee.

This is contained in a statement by the Spokesman of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), DCI Kenneth Udo, in Abuja.

He said the increment, which would take effect from Sept. I would affect both the 32-page passport booklet and the 64-page passport booklet.

Ido added that the 32-page Passport booklet with 5-year validity, which previously cost N35,000, would cost N50,000, while the 64-page Passport booklet with 10-year validity and previously cost N70,000, would cost N100,000.

He said the upward review was part of government’s effort to ensure quality and integrity.

The spokesperson while assuring of government’s commitment to transparency and quality service delivery, regretted the inconveniences the review might cause citizens.

Udo said the increment was for only citizens residing in Nigeria, adding that, “the fees remain unchanged in Diaspora.”
