The National Assembly has called on Nigerians to exercise patience while the Federal Government worked to tackle current economic challenges.

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, made the call at the end of a close-door session at an emergency plenary session on Wednesday.

He said government was aware of their plight and was working hard to ameliorate their sufferings.

“Senate urges that one year is not long enough for the policies been implemented by the present government to yield the desired result.

“The National Assembly is willing to deliberate on all matters that will bring about succour to Nigerians in general,”he said.

Akpabio further said the implementation of some government policies was a testament to the fact that President Tinubu had Nigerians at heart.

He said President Tinubu had demonstrated through his assent to the National Minimum Wage Bill and the National Students Loan”s Bill that he was not resting on his oars.

He further said the signing of the South-East Development Commission Bill and North West Development Commission by the president, among other developmental strides demonstrated that he wanted the best for Nigerians.
