The Supreme Court on Friday in Abuja affirmed Abdullahi Sule as duly elected governor of Nasarawa  State.

In the judgment an all five-member panel of the apex court dismissed the appeals filed by David Ombugadu, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 governorship election in Nasarawa State.

Reading the judgment,  Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, stated that the verdict of the Court of Appeal, which affirmed Sule’s election, was comprehensive.

QuestNews reports that the Election Petition Tribunal in Lafia had nullified Sule’s victory and declared Ombugadu as winner of the 2023 Governorship election in Nasarawa State.

Following the nullification, Sule and the All Progressives Congress (APC) sought to overturn the verdict of the tribunal and the Court of Appeal subsequently affirmed Sule’s election.
