Wike: Sen. Sani cautions against whipping up religious sentiment

Sen. Shehu Sani has cautioned against the use of religion to whip up sentiment among Nigerians.

Sani, a former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central, who made this known on his X handle, was reacting to reports in some quarters, allegedly criticising Mr Nyesome Wike, Federal Capital Territory(FCT) Minister using religious colouration.

He said “Wike can be criticised and should be criticised as a public official but the toxic use of religion against him is unconscionable and unaccepted.”

Sani’s statement has generated reactions from different quarters, with some supporting his stand.

Wike, immediate past governor of Rivers State and member of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP)was appointed as minister by President Bola Tinubu.
